Lamborghini has partnered with an electric vehicle manufacturer to enter the golf cart market

Let’s talk about golfing in elegance

Lamborghini, one of the most recognizable high-performance car companies in the world, has partnered with Kinetic Green Energy, an Indian electric vehicle company, to create a golf cart. The carts are expected to be available for purchase in 2022.

Lamborghini produces automobiles capable of reaching speeds of over 200 miles per hour. Kinetic Green is best known for its three-wheeled electric cars, but the company also has huge ambitions for e-scooters.

Kinetic Green Chief Executive Officer Sulajja Firodia Motwani told Bloomberg Television that their new business will produce “beautifully unique golf carts.” Solar panels will be installed on the golf carts, and they will be sold to airports, hotels, and resorts.

The two firms are hoping to rebound from a difficult year in 2020. Lamborghini sales fell 11% in 2020 compared to the previous year, while Kinetic revenue fell 30%.

Golf carts are said to be a $3 billion industry. Club Car, a golf cart manufacturer, was acquired for $1.7 billion in April to an investment company led by Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores.
